Dave DeVos - Bass Guitar & Upright Bass
Bassist David DeVos grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and played in
several local rock bands during high school and college with
life-long friend and drummer Ric Troll. Dave was the principal
bassist for the Michigan State Jazz band, and graduated from MSU
in 1977, where he collaborated with another life-long friend - Grand
Rapids Civic Theater musical director Wright McCargar - working
his way through college playing club jazz in Lansing. After
graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree, Dave started
engineering by day, and making music by night - staying busy with
countless gigs in the Grand Rapids area, and raising 3 children with
his wife Marcia. Dave has performed at every major venue in the
area, and with a who's who of the fine musical talent in the area.
He also enjoys musical ministry work at Cornerstone United
Methodist Church and at coffeehouses, churches, and street
corners around Grand Rapids.
